Who we are
New London Ruritan Club has served the community since
1947. Ruritan members work to enhance the quality of life through
community service and to make our community a better place to live
and work. Ruritan is family, fun and friends. We are proud to be an
organization of positive people doing positive things in our community.
We take pride in the things we bring to the New London area.
How we do it
New London Ruritan Club has several major fund-raisers
during the year.
• Weekly Saturday night dances featuring Country/Western music
and open to all ages (check Facebook for the band list)
• Rent the land and community center for meetings, family reunions,
birthday parties, weddings, etc
• Accept donations from kind folks
that support our mission to improve the community
What we do
New London Ruritan Club committees can propose and
implement projects and programs to fulfill community needs.
Examples: scholarships, support for rescue squads and volunteer fire
departments, donate plush Rudy Bears, support Hunters for the Hungry,
support USA Dance, sponsor blood donation programs, support “After
Prom” programs, sponsor 5th grade essay awards, hold fund-raisers
to help community persons with medical expenses, support the Patrick
Henry Boys and Girls Homes, partner with Verizon Telecom Pioneers
to provide dictionaries to 3rd grade students
There are several types of membership in Ruritan; Active,
Associate and Student. The New London Ruritan Club meets on the second
Tuesday of the month at 6:30PM opposite the New London Academy 12411
East Lynchburg-Salem Turnpike. We are interested in hearing from you
and would like to know how you want to serve the local community.
